How to build a strong entertainment business when you don't have very much money

In the Black Business School, we are always aware and concerned with the challenges of entrepreneurs from our community.  One of these great challenges has to do with a lack of funding.

So, to help with this issue, we've brought in Peter Parkkerr, one of the most respected young filmmakers in the country, to answer your questions regarding how he was able to do amazing work, sign massive deals and become so well-respected without having a large amount of seed capital to begin with.

You are welcome to post your questions for Peter in the comments section below.   To register for his masterclass, visit this link.

Attention,
I’m seeking funding for multiple black independent grassroots screenplays for motion pictures, I am Owner/Screenwriter/Producer of, feature films about black male/female ancient and contemporary heroes, these are some of the, ( GREATEST TRUE STORY NEVER TOLD). My goal is to par black youth as interns gaining hands-on experience and salary, as cinematographer, lighting, audio, director, producer, screenwriter, etc. These films will help the rise of black peoples narrative in film and train the future filmmakers with experience, skills and a will to produce positive images to counteract the negative images, presented by the dominant societies film industry.

Isa 42:22 But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them shared in holes, and they are hidden in prisons houses: they are a prey, and none delivereth, for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.

We have just completed our first feature film and after winning awards across the country, we finally have distribution. That experience has prompted an epiphany. And that epiphany is that It’s time for people of color to have their own ‘Marvel Universe’. The creation of a Sci Fi/Fantasy Universe can be molded after Stan Lee’s Marvel, George Lucas’s Star Wars or Peter Jackson’s Lord of The Rings Adaptation. We simply have to ‘Think Big’ and then follow through with the actions to support it! I have begun with the first book on a trilogy titled NUN (pronounced noon) The Awakening. As I progress to making this into a reality, your thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Peace!
